Old Brussels is a Belgian-made wall tapestry. One of the twelve hunting scenes in the Maximilian series originally woven in the late sixteenth century for the Archduke Maximilian who was later to become Emperor. The central horseman is the Emperor Charles V (1500 to 1558), the background is his Imperial Palace. The ram of Aries, centered at the top border, signifies the month of March.
