Chasse a Courre de Detti is a European jacquard wall tapestry. The Renaissance changed the art of tapestry. Great decorative frescoes became popular but with a new sense of composition, decor and perspective so far unknown. More than stag hunting itself, the artist depicts the attitude and the costumes of the characters. A rich and frivolous atmosphere emanates from this scene. The characters are dressed in very fashionable Italian style of the time. This scene shows a French landscape detailing the nobility hunting with their hounds. Typical of tapestries created from the 18th century, the foliage in the trees and plants are detailed, and combines beautifully into the forms of the land and the grasses. The animals, including the horses, hounds, and the royalty on their nature adventure can be seen in perfect harmony with their environment. The red accents of their costumes add a spike of color to compliment the elegant green, blue-green, and beige of the verdure scene.
