        About
Chasse D'Oudry is a European jacquard wall tapestry. This tapestry depicts a hunting scene created by the famous French animal painter, Jean-Bapiste Oudry (1686 – 1755). In a landscape surrounded by woods, horsemen prepare a pack of stag hounds to the sound of hunting horns. This tapestry represents a hunting halt in the Forest of Compiegne, north of Paris. In the 18th Century and before stag hunting was a popular amusement and favored hobby for noble lords.
