        About
Depart De Chasse French woven tapestry wallhanging is based on a panel found in the 16th century in the Bordeaux region and attributed to the
“Ateliers des Flandres” – Brussels (Flanders
workshops) circa 1500. This tapestry is exhibited at the “Hôtel de Cluny” (Paris). As shown in this masterpiece of the medieval art, one of the nobility’s favorite forms of recreation during this period was falconing, also known in the 16th century as “Merry Hunting” or “Hawking”.
