Mille Fleurs French Couch Pillow Cushion

Mille Fleurs is a French woven jacquard tapestry panel. All the little creatures often seen in the background of The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries are displayed with a mille fleurs style background upon a dark green backdrop. Mille fleur type backgrounds were used in medieval art as a means of decorating the areas which represent the forest.
