About
Vaux-Le-Vicomte is a French woven jacquard wall tapestry adapted from the wainscoting decorating the Salle des Buffets at the castle of Vaux-le-Viconte. This castle, built between 1656 and 1661 for Nicolas Fouquet, Superintendent of Finance for Louis XIV, was the masterwork of three gifted artists: Le Vau, Le Brun, and Le Nôtre who later designed the palace and gardens at Versailles.
