About
Vaux le Vicomte - In November is a French woven jacquard wall tapestry. The design comes from a series of engravings of the 18th century, exhibited at the castle of Vaux le Vicomte. This series consists of 12 engravings. Each of them illustrates a month of the year. The castle, built between 1656 and 1661 for Nicolas Fouquet, Superintendent of Finance for Louis XIV, was a masterwork of three gifted artists: Le Vau, Le Brun, and Le Nôtre who later designed the palace and gardens at Versailles.
