Rencontre A La Fontaine French woven tapestry wallhanging features work inspired after Le Bain , one of the six tapestries depicting the lords daily life in the reign of Louis XII. This set is what was called in the Middle-Ages a chambre de tapisseries . On a delightful mille-fleurs background, lords and ladies are featured with a familiar realism characteristic of the Gothic tapestries at the beginning of the 16th century. Nevertheless, clothes in the Italian fashion already foretell the Renaissance.
